Warszawa – Gdańsk
Our first stop was in Lubawa where we wanted to have something to drink and a lunch. So we drove to the city center, but the only road to the center was closed. So we parked outside the center near a little restarant, but we decided to go to the market square because we thought there must be more choice. A very big surprise there. There was no pub or restaurant at all on the Market Square. For molossus and me the first time in Poland we saw a market square without any food/drink establishments. So we went back to the hotel near the place we parked the car and had a nice drink and lunch.
After that we went to the Castle of the Teutonic Order in Malbork. It is the world’s largest brick Gothic castle.
Late in the afternoon we arrived in Gdańsk where we have a hotel near the old town. But before we chcked in we went to Gdańsk Shipyard (Stocznia Gdańska) a large Polish shipyard, located in the city of Gdańsk. The yard gained international fame when Solidarity (Solidarność) was founded there in September 1980.
We had dinner at a restaurant named ‘The Flying Dutchman’ where they served Bosman Steak. So of course with such a name I had to order it 🙂
